We are situated in the little hamlet of Valporino, in Castellero, a small 300-inhabitant village in the province of Asti, at 247 m above the sea level. Castellero is part of the Comunità Collinare Valtriversa.
The majority of its inhabitants are members of the Pro-Loco, the local office which organizes successful events, among which the important ‘Sagra della Nocciola’ – Hazelnut Festival, taking place during the first two weeks of October. The hazelnut is the typical product of this part of the Monferrato region.
Our farmhouse is situated in a secluded spot, which was a safe shelter for families of the Jewish community of Turin during the Nazi persecutions.
